An alumnus of St. Sebastian High School and K. C. College, Mumbai, V. K. Sehgal served 32 years in the Indian Army, specializing in logistics, supply chain, and resource management in both peace and conflict across varied terrains. He held senior roles including Director at IHQ, Ministry of Defence (Army), managing procurement worth over ₹2,000 crores, and Head of Resource Management for Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bihar, overseeing ₹2,500 crores in assets for 1.5 lakh personnel. As COO of a key logistics base, he managed ₹3,000 crores in assets and 2,000 civilian staff, implementing critical safety measures and leading live firefighting operations. A specialist in ammunition, armament, and missiles, he has trained security forces in bomb detection and evacuation. Post-retirement, he has served as visiting faculty at NMIMS University, Mumbai, and works as an independent consultant.
