Joined the Submarine arm after completing basic Marine Engineering conversion courses in 1981. Trained in the Soviet Union for Nuclear Submarines from 1982 to 1985, and subsequently served on F-class Submarines, INS Chakra, Hydrographic vessel INS Nirupak, and at Naval Headquarters with the Directorate of Submarine Acquisition (DSMAQ). During this tenure, pursued a three-year part-time MBA from Amity Business School, Noida. Later contributed to the indigenous development of equipment at DMDE and the procurement of submarine systems at HQATVP. In 2002, posted to Vizag at SBC for logistic support of equipment, submarine construction planning, and preparation of design documentation in ERP systems, working on MAT, PPM, PPC, and PDM modules. Completed a Service MBA program from XLRI, Jamshedpur, in the final phase of service.
